DDGS, biomass, and ethanol by-products build up fast, and shut down faster.
Mole·Master® offers top-to-bottom cleaning of biofuels and ethanol facilities. Whether you’re experiencing buildup in your dry distiller grain silos or planning an around the clock cleaning of your scalper and dirty bins during a shutdown, Mole·Master® offers the specialty services that can take care of these issues safely, efficiently, and effectively. In addition to our Big·Mole® silo cleaning service, Mole·Master® provides vacuum services, dry ice blasting, pipe cleaning and a host of additional services engineered to keep your facility operating at full capacity.
Dry distiller grain silo (DDGS) build-up is one of the most common operational headaches at ethanol plants. DDGS is hygroscopic. It absorbs moisture easily, and can bridge, arch, and harden quickly. Scalper bins and dirty bins accumulate waste material that compounds the problem if not addressed on a scheduled basis.
No water, no human entry: clean and ready before the plant restarts.
Mole·Master®’s proprietary Big·Mole® System offers all of the following benefits:
- Versatility: No matter what type of storage vessel your facility uses, no matter what you are storing, and no matter how long it has been non-flowing, Mole·Master® will be able to get the job done.
- No Human Entry Required: When Mole·Master® is contracted to clean out a facility, there can be confidence in the safety standards to which we adhere. All equipment is controlled remotely from the silo roof. There are NO chemicals and NO explosives. There is no chance of contaminating stored materials or damaging the vessel.
- Total Material Recovery: In virtually every instance, valuable material is freed and readied for further processing or loadout, as required.
- Lost Storage Capacity is Recovered: Storage vessels are restored to 100% of their planned capacity.
- Downtime is Minimized: The Big·Mole® System can dramatically reduce project times. This equates to less downtime and lower costs.
- 100% Dry Process: No water or other liquids are used with this proprietary system. Therefore, there is no water damage to the material or to the facility. That also means there is no mess, no mud, and no expensive cleanup.
- Non-Sparking Equipment: The Big·Mole® System utilizes non-sparking equipment that is mandatory for any potentially hazardous environments.
Mole·Master® commonly uses Dry Ice Blasting and Industrial Vacuum Services. These methodologies do not require water or other liquids. Dry Ice Blasting dramatically reduces cleanup time, which helps reduce both downtime and expenses.
DDGS silos cleared from outside the vessel.
The Big·Mole handles DDGS, biomass, and pellet build-up regardless of how long the material has been non-flowing. No matter what type of storage vessel the facility uses, Mole·Master® will get the job done, without water, without chemicals, without human entry.
Contamination-sensitive surfaces cleaned without residue.
Dry ice blasting is particularly effective in ethanol plants because CO₂ pellets sublimate on contact, no secondary waste, no water, no chemicals. Ideal for scalper bins, equipment surfaces, and areas near exposed product where cross-contamination is a concern.
Wet or dry removal: alongside the cleanout or standalone.
Industrial vacuum services handle the material that comes out of the vessel and the residue around the facility. Truck-mounted and portable loaders for virtually any wet, dry, or even hazardous material. Deployed alongside the Big·Mole cleanout or as a separate service.
Around-the-clock cleaning during your planned outage window.
Along with this primary service, Mole·Master® also offers Industrial Vacuum Services, Confined Space Entry Services, Ice Blasting, Pipe Cleaning, Safe-T-Shot® CO2 Blasting Services, Jack Hammering, and Brush Down/Scraping Services. Scheduled shutdowns at ethanol plants are high-stakes windows: every hour counts.
