The Arch·Master® portable auger system was designed to create flow channels through bridged and arched material, up to 152 feet (46 m) deep. The Arch·Master® was designed to do one thing exceptionally well: create flow channels through bridged, arched, or compacted bulk material inside a silo or bin. When material bridges over the discharge outlet, preventing flow, the Arch·Master® is lowered into the vessel from the roof opening and drills downward through the material to re-establish a flow path. In some cases, this is all that is required to restore full vessel operation. In more severe cases, the flow channel created by the Arch·Master® provides the initial access needed for a Junior 360°® or a Big·Mole turnkey service to complete the cleanout.
The machine was specifically designed for in-plant maintenance crews. Its low overall height of 7′7″ (2.3 m) accommodates facilities with limited headroom above the vessel roof. The high-torque, variable speed power head rapidly drills even hardened material, and HD 3-inch auger sections add in 4-foot increments to reach the full 152-foot drilling depth. Specialty bits are available for any application.

At 7 feet 7 inches (2.3 m) total height, the Arch·Master® fits on top of vessels in facilities with limited clearance above the vessel’s roof. The 28″ × 28″ (71.1 cm × 71.1 cm) base provides a stable working platform without requiring extensive setup space.
Adjust speed to match the material resistance.
The special-duty hydraulic motor provides variable speed drilling from slow for initial penetration of compacted material through full speed once the channel is established. The double-roller chain drive transmits torque reliably throughout the operating range. High-torque head handles even the hardest materials.
Add depth in 4-foot increments with quick-connect hex drive.
HD flights, 3-inch diameter, 4-foot long hex drive auger sections add in increments as the channel deepens. Quick-connect hydraulic fittings throughout the system minimize setup and changeover time. Spring steel drive pins secure each section positively. Custom auger diameters available at additional cost.
Standard bits for most materials. Carbide-tipped for hardened crust.
The Arch·Master® comes with a standard set of fishtail bits and carbide-tipped bits to handle both loose and hardened material. The 3.5-inch carbide-tipped bit penetrates crusted material that would stop a standard steel bit. Custom specialty bits are also available from Mole·Master® for unusual applications.

The Arch·Master® in the Mole·Master® cleaning system.
The Arch·Master® is one tool in a three-tier approach. The right tool depends on the difficulty of the material and the condition of the vessel.
Arch·Master® alone may restore flow.
For vessels with bridged or lightly compacted material, drilling a single flow channel through the arch is often all that is needed. The material above the discharge outlet collapses into the channel and flows out. No further equipment required.
Arch·Master® first, then Junior 360°®.
When bridged material is too hard or extensive for the flow channel alone to solve the problem, the Arch·Master® creates the initial access channel. The Junior 360°® H or Junior 360°® P is then deployed to enlarge the channel and cut wall crust throughout the vessel’s interior.
Big·Mole turnkey service: full cleanout.
When material is severely hardened, when the vessel requires complete emptying, or when neither the Arch·Master® nor the Junior 360°® can address the condition, Mole·Master® deploys the Big·Mole turnkey service. Available in all 50 U.S. states and 35+ countries.
