Proven Bin and Silo Preventative Maintenance Programs

Prevent Problems Before They Impact Production. Unplanned downtime rarely happens without warning. Material buildup develops gradually, reducing storage capacity, restricting material flow, and increasing stress on storage vessels long before a complete blockage occurs.

Prevent Problems Before They Impact Production

Unplanned downtime rarely happens without warning. Material buildup develops gradually, reducing storage capacity, restricting material flow, and increasing stress on storage vessels long before a complete blockage occurs. Routine preventative maintenance helps identify and resolve these issues early, reducing operational risk while protecting productivity.

Mole·Master®’s preventative maintenance programs are designed to keep silos, bins, hoppers, kilns, and other storage vessels operating safely and efficiently. Scheduled cleaning removes developing buildup before it becomes a costly emergency, helping facilities maintain reliable material flow, maximize storage capacity, and reduce unexpected outages.

Early intervention often allows cleaning to be completed quickly and economically. Delaying maintenance can transform a routine cleanout into a complex project requiring significantly more time, labor, and expense while extending production downtime.

Program Components

Cleaning, inspection, and documentation: all tracked by Mole·Master®.

Every preventative maintenance program is customized to the facility. Components are selected based on the vessels, the materials, and the plant’s inspection and compliance requirements.

Scheduled Cleaning

Cleaning intervals set by material and vessel type.

Cleaning frequency is determined by material bulk density, hygroscopicity, vessel geometry, and throughput. Mole·Master® sets the calendar, tracks the intervals, and confirms mobilization in advance of each service date.

Structural Inspection

Vessel condition assessed at each service visit.

Every maintenance visit includes a visual assessment of vessel condition. Abnormalities, cracks, wall damage, cone deterioration, discharge gate wear, are documented and included in the post-visit report. Full structural inspection by certified engineer available as a program add-on.

Documentation

Written record of every service visit.

Each visit produces a written service record: vessels cleaned, method used, condition observations, and any findings requiring follow-up. Documentation supports regulatory compliance, insurance requirements, and internal maintenance reporting.

Protect Your Investment

Every preventative maintenance program is tailored to the operating conditions, stored material, and production schedule of each facility. Flexible service options include turnkey cleaning performed by Mole·Master® technicians or equipment rental and purchase for facilities that choose to perform routine maintenance in-house.

Mole·Master®’s preventative maintenance solutions include:

  • Scheduled silo and bin cleaning
  • Proprietary Big·Mole® no-entry cleanout system
  • Junior 360°® Silo and Bin Cleaning Machine
  • Arch·Master® Portable Auger System
  • Safe-T-Shot® CO2 Blasting System
  • Industrial vacuum services
  • Hydro-blasting and specialty cleaning services

Preventative cleaning becomes even more valuable when combined with a professional structural inspection. Cleaning the storage vessel before an inspection allows engineers to accurately evaluate interior and exterior conditions, identify developing structural concerns, and recommend corrective action before minor issues become major repairs.

Comprehensive inspection and maintenance programs help facilities improve worker safety, extend the service life of valuable assets, reduce maintenance costs, and minimize unplanned downtime. A proactive maintenance program is one of the most effective ways to improve reliability, reduce operating costs, and avoid emergency cleanouts. Contact Mole·Master® to develop a customized preventative maintenance and inspection program for your facility.
