Engineered Solutions for Batch House and Storage Vessel Challenges
Reliable material flow is essential to maintaining consistent glass production. Batch houses rely on the precise handling and storage of numerous raw materials, making even minor buildup or flow restrictions capable of disrupting production, reducing storage capacity, and affecting process efficiency.
Material accumulation often develops unnoticed because storage vessels are typically maintained at high fill levels, preventing routine visual inspection of interior surfaces. Production losses, restricted flow, and reduced vessel capacity are frequently the first signs that a significant blockage has already developed.
Mole·Master® helps glass manufacturers identify and resolve these issues before they impact production. Scheduled inspections and preventative cleaning programs restore storage capacity, improve material flow, and reduce the risk of unplanned downtime.
Every material in the batch house recipe: cleaned and cleared.
The glass batch recipe is one of the most complex raw-material combinations in heavy industry. Mole·Master® has direct experience with all of them:
Sand, cullet, and soda ash.
The highest-volume materials in any glass batch: silica sand (flat, container, and specialty grades), cullet (internal and purchased), and soda ash for fluxing. All three build up in silos, bins, and distribution rooms and respond well to the Big·Mole and industrial vacuum process.
Feldspar, alumina, limestone, and more.
Feldspar, alumina, limestone, 5mol borax, pyrobor, pot ash, nitrates, niter, salt cake, manganese, iron oxide, and carbon, all commonly handled in small-batch weigh bins and delivered through pneumatic conveyance to the mixing system.
Glass “hairs” and carryover in flue systems.
Larger furnaces produce glass hair and fine carry-over that deposits in the flue system between the furnace and the baghouse. If not addressed, this build-up restricts draft and can cause baghouse damage. Mole·Master®’s proprietary The Checkers specification is the industry solution.
From the batch house silo to the furnace flue: every surface covered.
Proprietary no-human-entry cleaning technologies safely remove hardened material buildup without requiring personnel to enter confined spaces whenever possible. Engineered cleaning solutions restore reliable material flow while minimizing operational disruptions and maintaining the highest safety standards.
